Chennai: Urging students to acquire leadership
skills, founder of Crossover Basketball and Scholars Academy, Shaun
Jayachandran, said that they should learn to lead.

Addressing the 8th batch of prefects assuming duty
during the  investiture ceremony of Chettinad Hari Shree Vidyalayam
(CHSV) for the year 2014 -15 at R A Puram here yesterday, he said that
today’s youngsters had the potential to compete globally at any levels.

Stressing on the importance of an environment
where students could learn and develop qualities at the same time, he
said that students of CHSV were blessed to be a part of such institution
which encouraged youngsters in leadership qualities and character
building.

Stating that four traits were vital to achieve
success beyond classroom teaching, he said that overcoming problems in
one’s life, pursuing one’s dream with passion, working together and
helping each other would push oneself to achieve new heights.

Jayachandran said that prefects had immense
responsibility to shoulder and they could make a difference in every
small way while discharging their daily responsibilities. Later, he
conferred badges to the new prefects from eighth to tenth standard.  

Speaking on the occasion, principal of CHSV, Deivanai said that every student played an important role in the school community.

Hailing the previous students council, she urged
members of the new council to learn from the former prefects. She also
said that students should make best use of the resources, skills and
talent to lead the way and set example for others.

The principal said teachers were the bedrocks to
provide the right foundation after which the future of the students
would be in their own hands amid a plethora of
opportunities.                                  

P C Siddharth from 12th standard was declared the
new head boy and K B Shree of the same class as head girl.
Coordinators for the investiture ceremony for prefectorial board
members of CHSV, Sarayu Ganesan and Shobana Balaji were also present.
