that Hoops Creating Hope

A FREE TWO-WEEK PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS AGED 8-14 (GENDER BALANCED) TO LEARN CROSSOVER’S FIVE PILLARS OF SUCCESS AND GET EXPOSURE TO STUDENT-ATHLETE ROLE MODELS.

Hoops Creating Hope is a free, two-week program for marginalized students to create and develop the link between leadership, gender equity, character, teamwork, and communication with academic success and future goals. By using basketball as the vehicle of change, students are able to learn on the court and in the classroom through play and guided experiential learning rather than more hours in a traditional classroom. The students learn about Crossover’s five pillars by connecting lessons in the program through sessions connecting academics, individual skills, team building, conditioning, and yoga.

Crossover welcomes nearly 500 students to the academy held in Delhi and Chennai. Thought leaders, student voices, coaches, and educators from the US and India discuss the positive role sport can play in a student’s overall education.

“A big thank you from me and my class kids to your whole team for organising this amazing camp. Just 2 days into the camp and I am already witnessing many positive changes in the kids. The kids are also having so much fun and are getting exposed to so many new things. I cannot wait to see the other possibilities the camp is going to open up for all the kids who are attending.”

“A big thanks to Crossover. This helped me improve my game while I concentrate on my (academic test) scores. Thank you coach for taking me closer to my dream. I’m working and I will keep at it.”

“My favorite classroom lessons were friendship, loyalty, self-control, spirit, cooperation, and condition. I will favour these lessons in my day-to-day life.”
