Founder Shaun Jayachandran

Shaun Jayachandran is the Founder and President of Crossover Basketball and Scholars Academy

Shaun has created a career in education, coaching, and diversity. As the son of a woman born and raised in an orphanage in Chennai and a father also from Chennai, Shaun is well versed in the effort and connections necessary and required to elevate through education. He has shown the ability to craft an innovative curriculum that will push students towards academic and athletic achievement. Shaun has a distinguished track record of working with successful high school and college coaches and in recruiting and developing talented student-athletes.

He has spoken at a TEDx and Indiaspora Forum’s, published articles, and been honoured by the Philadelphia 76ers for his work in creating and growing Crossover.

His coaching career has taken him through both the legendary John Wooden (Bill Sweek, UCLA) and Lefty Driesell (Chuck Driesell, MARYLAND) coaching trees as well as having worked and learned from Morgan Wootten (DEMATHA), Joey Wootten (BISHOP O’CONNELL), Bob Hurley Sr. (ST. ANTHONY’S) and Tommy Amaker (DUKE/HARVARD). Every program Shaun has been affiliated with has shown new ways of teaching the game—and a love for that game—to student-athletes. Shaun continues to consistently puts himself in a position to improve his ability to teach the game.
