Harvard Spotlight: Jonah Travis

Jonah Travis ’15Jonah had an extremely busy couple of months this summer. He began by working for Wellington Management, an asset management company headquartered in downtown Boston. With approximately $774 billion in client assets under management, Wellington Management serves as an investment advisor to more than 2,100 institutions located in over 50 countries. Jonah had the unique opportunity to work on the trading floor with the administration team, and he also assisted the stock traders in their daily communication with various investment banks around the world.During the middle of his internship, Jonah was permitted to take two weeks off and travel to India as part of the Crossover Basketball and Scholars Academy. This program is an educational non-profit organization that pairs basketball with an academic focus in a manner that will ensure that students become lifelong leaners. Jonah had the opportunity to work with schoolchildren in India, mentoring them in the classroom and on the basketball court. He was the lead counselor of a group of about 10 people, who all worked with over 250 kids of various economic backgrounds.

Jonah then returned to Boston to finish his internship with Wellington Management. Upon completion of his internship, he even found time to take a trip with his two roommates – Alex Nesbitt and Kenyatta Smith – to the French Riviera.
